DrupalCons happen periodically at different places in the world. They're similar to a DrupalCamp but longer, bigger, and often include other elements like summits, trainings, and contribution sprints. Volunteers at the event help make sure it goes smoothly for all attendees.
The main goal of a DrupalCon is knowledge sharing among the community -- essentially, you’re getting the community together to help each other learn. It can also be a chance for community members to get to know each other in informal social events, and work together on projects that benefit the Drupal project or the community.
- Signing up for task in a time slot
- Reading background materials about the task you chose
- Showing up at the right place and the right time
- Doing the assigned task
- Being flexible: if the DrupalCon really needs help with something else at your chosen time, be willing to do that instead of the task you chose
As each DrupalCon is announced, look for requests for volunteers, or message DrupalCon on Twitter. You can also often volunteer on-site at the registration or help desk.
