If a node is updated, the attached comments get marked as new again. See recent updated handbook pages by kika.

If nobody has fixed this I'll take a hack at it. Should be an easy way to get updated on the comment module changes :-)

just tested this.

i had a node with 3 comments i have already read, then i went into the node, updated without new revision, and the comments were still marked as read.

I then updated with new revision , and the comments were still marked as read.

tested with : 4.1.0 Release.

I move we close this.

hey there guys ...

anyone had the time/inclination to double check this..

I have started systematically going through the bugs list to see if
there is anything that a) shouldnt be there, and b) i could do. ..

I am going to download the bug list , drupal major releases and cvs
update to the latest.. and look through it all sometime next week while
i am off work (and without internet connection)
