Link image to content/file

When using Imagefield Slideshow to view images on a node, the images are not able to link to file/content as it is in core. If I click on an image in the slideshow, nothing happens.

I request adding a functional "Link Image to" drop-down when configuring a display mode under the Format column (after clicking the cog for the Imagefield Slideshow formatted field). The drop-down would ideally function as the original "Image" format does, linking to either nothing/content/file.

Optionally, a "next image" selection would be useful, in the event that I want to click the image to manually advance the slideshow (for slideshows with many images, or too slow transitions for a user) instead of simply linking to Nothing (as is current behavior)

By using Imagefield Slideshow, I get more pleasing display of images in nodes, however, I lose the functionality for linking to the original image/content, which is especially an issue if I have a image style applied to the slideshow.
