Geocoder input is available when using exposed filters in views (see screen shot 1) but there isn't this option when using contextual filters (see screen shot 2). It would be very useful to be able to provide a place name as an argument to the view and have it geocoded to a lat/long pair for searching.

It's a good idea, but I fear no-one will have time to implement this in the near future. I'd be happy to review it, though, if someone provides a patch.
