💃Shimmy manages and auto-updates Drupal-compatible shim repositories of third-party libraries - such as frontend libraries - to provide easier integration with composer-installed Drupal contrib modules.
Why 💃?
Drupal contrib modules have wrestled with third-party PHP libraries. Stop-gap solutions included adding an explicit repository reference in the Drupal core `composer.json`, maintaining a manual repository fork, or expecting a manual migration.
Learning from the work of CKEditor Libraries Group, this project abstracts out the automation efforts to create Drupal-compatible shims (forks) of the original libraries with Drupal variables (`drupal/library`, library install path) injected in.
